What’s New?
The Geomatica v10.1.3 update includes significant updates for sensor support in OrthoEngine. RADARSAT-2 data products are now readable by GDB and can be corrected using OrthoEngine. This new release also contains enhancements for computing RPC information for SPOT 4 and SPOT 5 data, as well as the new SAR Fusion tool. As well, users of v10.1.3 will be able to quickly and conveniently access the Pansharpening tool directly in OrthoEngine.
Geomatica v10.1.3 introduces the following new functionality:
RADARSAT-2 Data compatibility
Now process RADARSAT-2 data in OrthoEngine – import data using GDBs, and orthorectify your data using the SAR model or RPCs.
SPOT RPC
Correct your SPOT 4 and SPOT 5 data using just a few or no GCPs, or allow OrthoEngine to calculate RPCs for you.
SAR Fusion
This exciting new tool allows users to quickly and accurately fuse low-resolution SAR imagery with high resolution multispectral images.
Pansharpening in OrthoEngine
The Pansharpening tool is now accessible through the Utilities menu in OrthoEngine.
Geomatica 10.1.2 is here now!
The Geomatica v10.1.2 update includes significant updates for sensor support in OrthoEngine. JAXA Level 1.5 PALSAR data products are now readable by GDB and can be corrected using OrthoEngine.
Geomatica v10.1.2 introduces two exciting new Add-On Modules:
Worldview-1 Add-On Module
Geomatica v10.1.2 includes support for the WorldView-1 sensor. This will allow users of Geomatica to capitalize on the world’s only 50 centimeter resolution commercial imaging satellite.

Geomatica 10.1.1 is here now!
Now supported in Geomatica 10.1.1 is Kompsat-2, the high-resolution satellite belonging to the Korean Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). KOMPSAT-2 acquires imagery in black and white (Pan) at a resolution of 1 m, and in colour (MS) across 4 bands in the visible (red, green, blue) and near-infrared at a resolution of 4 m.
Support for ALOS data products has also been extended to include ERSDAC PALSAR level 1.5 long version, level 4.1 and level 4.2 data.
Other satellites fully supported in this release include:
-
CBERS - China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite
-
DMC - Disaster Monitoring Constellation
-
EROS-B - Earth Resources Observation Systems
In addition, PCI Geomatics' Generic Database (GDB) Technology has been extended, allowing for the exporting of raster and vector layers into KML format with direct loading of layers into Google Earth (version 4.0 or greater). The GDB Technology also now supports LASF version 1.0 for both reading and writing.
A new RMOVERLAP algorithm has been added to the Modeler and EASI environments which simplify cutlines generated by OrthoEngine. By removing the overlap between cutline polygons, cutlines are easier to edit and are more intuitive.
The GRNEHN algorithm is now included in the pan sharpening workflow, which produces a more natural dataset and is a better match with actual photos, as it improves the green band in the output image.
